Climate Change

Climate Change

Climate change has taken on a wide remit beyond the rules of the Kyoto Protocol. Farmers are becoming aware of issues such as building up soil carbon which not only improves chemical, physical and biological fertility and thus productivity of the soil, but may also have a direct monetary value from trading soil carbon. For more information on soil carbon click here.

Others in areas prone to increasingly severe climatic events such as flooding and droughts, are having to consider alternative techniques to adapt to the impacts of climate change. If you would like to know more click here to look at our discussion on adaptation.

With the allocation of hundreds of thousands of NZUs in 2009, and trading already started, many people are asking how do we trade carbon and what is a fair deal? We have a section on Carbon Trading, which gives an overview of the process and what to look for in a carbon sale agreement.
